AMOS & SKATER'S HOT TIPS ON HOW TO WIN SS&A IDOL 2005!
Hey guys, it's Amos & Skater here, we want you to win SS&A IdoL, so we thought we'd give you a few tips on how to impress our judges & how to increase your chances of winning SS&A IdoL 2005 so listen up!
1) This is not a karaoke competition, it's an IdoL competition, which means our IdoL judges will be looking for someone who can not only sing, but someone who looks great up on stage, & someone who is entertaining to watch. So dress up to look the part & don't be boring on stage, and by boring we mean don't just stand there looking at your feet or staring blankly into the crowd, show us some life & your personality.
2) Learn the song you have chosen to perform! If the judges see you trying to remember the lyrics or struggling with the notes it will effect your overall score. Practice makes perfect, so put aside some time every day to rehearse your song. If you really want to increase your chances of being the best performer in front of not only our IdoL judges, but also the IdoL crowd try practicing in front of a mirror! This will show you what you look like when you are singing & help you to create and mould your presence on stage, this will also contribute to the way in which you are scored by the judges.
3) Act like a performer! Don't hold back, let loose, we're all here to watch you perform, to watch you in action, so don't be shy or self conscious, this is your chance to be a star, so act like one and this will help you feel like a true performer & make your performance more exciting.
4) Don't get up on stage drunk! A few drinks is ok if you can handle them, suit yourself, although appearing on stage drunk will inhibit your ability & co-ordination on stage, so we advise that if you really wanna win the prize..... don't be a drunk singer.
5) Song choice is detrimental! Choose songs you know your voice can handle & that you know you can perform with some ability. If you chose songs outside of your vocal range & abilities you will not reveal your true potential to our judges & will lower your chances of winning. Here's a little secret to
help you with your song choice.... think about how you would use your
voice if you were to write a match to the style, range and sound of your voice & select a song similar to sing. If you are going to select a song outside of your normal vocal range, make sure you learn & practice your song.
6) Don't use the words on the screen, know your lyrics! Anyone who needs to use the screen for their lyrics will be less entitled to be crowned SS&A IdoL. The words are for unprepared performers.
There you go guys!
